Car Maintenance

The best way to avoid spending big money on costly repairs is to be proactive and establish a preventative maintenance plan that best suits your vehicle’s needs. The friendly, experienced staff at M&M Auto Service can work with you to determine what regular services your vehicle will need as part of its preventative maintenance schedule and customize your plan to accommodate any special requests you might have.

We recommend a proper tune-up every 30,000 miles or so and oil changes every 3,000 miles or every three months. Engine inspections, filter checks, spark plug and filter replacements, fluid flushes, fuel system cleanings–all of these elements are included in a preventative maintenance plan.

If you’re not sure how long it’s been since your last tune-up, here are a few signs you should get one performed soon:

Increased Fuel Consumption. If you’re filling your tank up more often than usual, there’s a decent chance something is out-of-whack in your engine and you’re in need of a tune-up.

Knocking/Pinging Sounds. When you hear either of these noises, particularly during acceleration, your vehicle is definitely in need of service.

Hard Starting. If it takes you a few tries to get your engine started more than once within a short timeframe, you should head to our shop ASAP.

If you need to schedule a tune-up, inspection or anything else related to your vehicle’s health, be sure to give M&M Auto Service a call at 412.782.1559 – our ASE-certified technicians are here to answer any questions or concerns you may have!
